Heart Work, 2017

Photoshop & Corel Painter

This editorial piece was created for the Northwestern Public Health Review's Fall 2017 edition entitled "Health and Longevity." It was chosen as the cover of the journal.

Aging is often associated with disease and despair, but I wanted to create hopeful, light imagery. I wanted to reference fulfilling work, hobbies, and other things that make life meaningful regardless of age. I'm very happy with how this piece turned out, and it received an award of merit at the Association of Medical Illustrators 2017 Salon.

The illustration is dedicated to my father, who passed away on November 11th, 2017. Love you, Dad.
